...and glad to be!! The 'staining my concrete patio' turned out to be a MAJOR project... it was freakin HOT this weekend and I was determined to get this bad boy DONE!!... I couldn't be more pleased on how it turned out!! :)
I used Behr transparent concrete stain from Home Depot- $35 a can
A foam roller-$5
and some painters tape- $10
all together the staining project only cost me about $70 bucks- Make sure you ask for that military discount!! ;)
Lets recap on the before: the blah!
I prepped by scrubbing the entire porch down with dawn dish soap and rinsing with water. Then allowed 24 hours to dry....
To make my grid, I made a cardboard 24x24 inch square and traced out each square with a pencil before covering my lines up with painters tape.
And the final product: love it!!
I ended up switching up the decor a bit. After seeing the final product I didn't think the lime green would go so well.... So I went for reddish throw pillows from Home Depot ($12ea.) and used some old pots that I already had on hand.
I couldn't believe how much this project worked out my glutes/legs... I woke up yesterday morning, crawled out of bed, and nearly fell on my face as I tried to balance... I was like WOAH, ouch...mmm not good! Needless to say this set me back on my 1/2 marathon training :( I have been doing so good at sticking to my schedule so I was a bit disappointed that I had to skip yesterdays run... I have since been walking around like I have something stuck up my a$$ so no running was involved today either... Hoping I can get back to it tomorrow!! RIDICULOUS!... but worth it I suppose. :)
So what do you guys think?.... How was your weekend?

Wow! I love it!!! I even had to call my husband over to take a look. I will definitely have to take this challenge on when I actually have a patio. You did such a good job.
