My chair shakes... I look over at the table - my water is bouncing around in its glass... I'm thinking hmm earthquake??... no can't be. Gosh, they must be flying low today?? [Air station is a few miles away].
I wonder outside to see if one of the military planes happens to be flying over... nope, don't see anything.
hmmm...
Wonder back to my desk thinking- wow, that was weird. I'm losing my mind.
5 minutes later....
Phone rings... its my mother in law.
'Did you hear about the earthquake in VA?' No??!...
YES!!! I'm not losing my mind!! I knew I wasn't crazy... well kinda.

I know all of you Cali people are probably like...wow Amy... no big deal- they happen all the time here, but in North Carolina? Nope never encountered that before... in fact this was my first earthquake experience EVER.
I'm just glad I'm not going crazy after all!! [smiles!]
On another note... we have a CAT 3 Hurricane headed our way. OH JOY! I hope Irene decides to take detour from her projected path otherwise I am going to have to get my butt in gear. Although I want to shrug it off, I know I should probably have some sort of plan together in case Irene hits us hard....
Mike's plan will definitely not work for preparation... he's normally the one that is outside looking for the tornado when we have watches in effect and has already advised me of his plans to hit up the beach on Saturday morning. & he wants me to come with??!! Now that is ludicrous!

Well he did talk me into going to the beach when Hurricane Earl threatened our coast... but that ended up turning into a tropical storm so it was a bit different...
Anyways....... ;)
How was everyones weekend? Hopefully enjoyable!
I pictured mine to be pretty boring, but when the hubby surprised me and came home from training for the weekend it was transformed :)... a trip to the beach and a small shrimp boil with our awesome neighbors really topped it off! :)
AND I managed to fit in an 11 1/2 mile run Sunday evening.- This is the furthest I have ever ran. Felt GOOD!
It was nice to take a break from the MADNESS that my life has recently rolled into. A.K.A. = Dental Hygiene School.
Who knew there was a name for literately every crevice in your mouth?
Well there is...
And that brings me back to what I should be doing now, you guessed it.... Studying. [lame] Better get back to it y'all!!
I'll conclude this post with something that will hopefully make you smile... I photo of my nephew- River Sebastian [3 months]
He's such a cutie!!
CIAO.

I saw this all over Facebook today. Is it normal for earthquakes to happen on the East Coast? Anyway... glad you are okay!
Glad you are safe! A trip to the beach sounds so lovely! 11 1/2 mile run? Geeze girl.. way to go!
I am JEALOUS of your earthquake experience. I have been out here for almost a year now and NOTHING! Once I heard it happened in your neck of the woods, I threw up my hands and said "Really?!"
As for the Hurricane... not so jealous. Being a Floridian, I do miss hurricane days, where we would all have a hurricane party and play outside in the gusts. But a Cat 3 is a little rough. In Tampa we always had a bubble around us and would never get smacked with anything too hard. But my husband has been through a tough one that flattened some of his neighbors houses. Make sure you stock up on batteries for flashlights and such. Power might go out for a while.
So now that I have officially scared you, I guess I should say I hope all is well with school and that you are enjoying yourself tons! <3
